Two people were killed in a hotel shooting in Naples on New Year’s Eve.

On New Year’s Eve, there was a shooting at the Port of the Islands Resort in Naples that left two people dead.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect shot and killed a hotel employee at 3:25 p.m.

The suspect, according to CCSO officers, was a previous worker at the motel at 25000 Tamiami Trail East, according to a recent article by Bella Line of Fox4.

According to CCSO, as soon as deputies got there, they fled the hotel and started their investigation. Inside one of the hotel’s offices, they discovered the deceased suspect who had self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

The Greater Naples Fire Rescue District, Collier County EMS, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, CCSO’s SWAT, Aviation Unit, and Drone Unit, and others all responded to the scene, according to CCSO.

The CCSO claims that after notifying the suspect’s next of kin, the suspect’s identify would be made public.

The inquiry is still ongoing, the CCSO informs Fox 4.
