Publix’s New Golden Gate Grocery Hub: What You Need to Know

Publix is swinging open its doors this October 2025 at The Shoppes at Orange Blossom on Oil Well Road—and it’s bringing a full plate of neighborhood-first convenience and style.
What’s Opening—And When
Publix: A 52,249‑sq‑ft flagship store (plus a 3,060‑sq‑ft mezzanine).
Publix Liquors: A 2,128‑sq‑ft liquor store right next door, also slated for this fall.
Other inline retail: Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Great Clips, Encore Nail Bar—and two more restaurant-ready units. These will open in late 2025 or early 2026.
Fifth Third Bank: A standalone 1,900‑sq‑ft branch with two drive-thru lanes (including a pneumatic vacuum tube lane), an ATM, and two EV charging spots.
What Makes It Different
This Publix is more than just groceries—it’s the latest prototype focused on “shopping as a pleasure.” Expect amenities like eight self-checkouts, a mezzanine with cafe seating, a lounge, elevator access, and staff training spaces.
Fresh Food Features
The deli island will be next-level with noodle/rice cookers, sushi offerings, a hot buffet, olive bar, cheese section, six-well soup bar, and even a popcorn machine. Bakery and meat/seafood counters zone out back, produce sits by the eastern deli, and there's a drive-thru pharmacy in the front corner.
Neighborhood Expansion
The development is just the beginning. A new traffic signal is underway at Oil Well Road & Big Corkscrew Drive, leading to Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park. Nearby, a 384-unit apartment complex (Emblem at Orange Blossom) is in progress, plus planned outparcel businesses like Chipotle, Starbucks, Circle K, Mavis Tires & Brakes, and Heartland Dental.
This corner was long underserved—now it's poised to become a full-service hub, complete with shopping, services, dining, and housing
