Police in Naples start a new initiative for traffic safety.

NAPLES, Florida –The Naples Police Department initiated “Operation Safe Streets” in August and is now stepping its efforts to improve traffic safety.

According to NPD, the operation started in August and will run until March 2025.The operation’s main goals will be to enhance driving safety, education, and enforcement.

Hotspot areas have been found that are connected to:Stop signs and traffic lightsSpeedblocked or congested junctionszones for schoolsConcerns about neighborhood safetySafety on bicyclesThus far, August 1 through September 29 statistics results indicate the following:

Crash totals: 1212,264 traffic stops in total.1,334 warnings in total675 citations in total
