New $25 Million Genesis Dealership Breaks Ground in Naples After Delay

A significant boost to Naples’ auto retail landscape is officially underway. After months of delay, crews have started construction on a new Genesis of Naples dealership at the busy intersection of Pine Ridge Road and Interstate 75, marking a major development in local commercial real estate and the city’s automotive market.

The project, which is being developed by the Zeller family — a Collier County automotive business dynasty — represents a $25 million investment and underscores Naples’ appeal as a market for luxury brands. The new two-story Genesis facility will sit on a 10.5-acre site the Zellers acquired in 2022 for $11.2 million and will span roughly 30,000 square feet of showroom, administrative space, and service functions.

Plans call for the first floor of the building to house new and pre-owned Genesis vehicles on display, while the second floor will be dedicated to administrative offices. In addition to traditional dealership amenities, the development will include an expanded service center and EV charging stations, reflecting growing demand for electric-vehicle support infrastructure in the luxury segment. Floor-to-ceiling windows and an open floor plan are designed to create a modern, welcoming experience for customers.

The Genesis of Naples brand is Hyundai’s premium luxury marque, and its arrival in a standalone flagship facility signals confidence in the local market’s prospects. This new location will complement an existing Hyundai dealership the Zeller family also owns in the area, creating a regional automotive hub that serves a broad spectrum of buyers.

The road to today’s groundbreaking wasn’t entirely smooth. Construction was originally supposed to begin early last year, but the project encountered an extended delay due to complexities around a longstanding roadway easement adjacent to the site, according to statements from the family. Resolving those coordination challenges was key to unlocking progress on the project.

Once complete, the new Genesis dealership is expected to bring enhanced retail capacity and jobs to the local economy. The family-run business — led by Robert and Sheila Zellers alongside their daughter Joy Zellers-Rautenkranz and son A.J. Zellers — already employs about 300 people across its Naples operations, and sells more than 5,000 new and used vehicles annually. Integration of the Genesis brand with existing Tamiami Hyundai and Tamiami Ford locations further strengthens this footprint.

The project also arrives at a time when South Florida’s automotive and commercial real estate sectors are experiencing renewed activity. Consumers continue to demand high-end vehicles, and dealerships are investing in modern facilities with expanded amenities like EV infrastructure to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

For local drivers and regional auto shoppers, the new Genesis of Naples will be worth watching — as it promises both an elevated buying experience and a statement of confidence in Naples’ long-term growth trajectory. Construction crews expect to finish the build in early 2027, setting the stage for a grand opening that could become one of the year’s marquee business moments in Collier County.
