Golden Gate Woman Seriously Injured in Early-Morning Home Invasion

A Golden Gate home invasion turned violent early Sunday, leaving a 63-year-old woman seriously injured in a shocking assault.
At around 5:04 a.m., deputies from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence in the 5200 block of 24th Avenue SW following reports of a burglary and stabbing. What they found raised more questions than answers.
The Incident
The victim was inside her bathroom when an unknown person forced entry and stabbed her through the window. She emerged asking for help—her 58-year-old roommate, lying just a room away, sprang to her aid. The attack was sudden, remote, and ruthless.
Deputies confirmed the suspect fled the scene after the attack. There’s no known motive, and the woman does not recognize her attacker. Investigators are reviewing shoeprints found below the bathroom window and partial handprints on the window frame for leads.
Injury & Response
The injured woman was airlifted by Med Flight to an undisclosed trauma center. Her injuries are listed as traumatic and serious, though her current condition hasn’t been publicly updated.
