Free flights and $100K bonus for this Port Charlotte resort new hires

Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor employees will get $100,000 retention bonuses and Allegiant Air flights.

The Port Charlotte Resort’s parent business, Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel Co., announced these and other bonuses Wednesday for its 1,200 new employees.

However, not everyone hired will qualify, According to a recent article by Louis Llovio of The Business Observer

Full-time workers will get a free domestic trip and $100,000 over 10 years after a decade of service. The firm claims “full-time hourly or select entry-level salaried employees hired by Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor either before the resort’s opening or within the first 30-days after the resort’s planned October opening†are eligible for the incentive.

The benefits package is substantial and includes:

Dental and vision insurance.Flexibility and PTO.Learning advantages.Family travel discounts.ESP program.Sunseeker President Micah Richins says the business recognizes “the importance in today’s workplace to offer innovative benefits to not only salaried employees but also hourly workers.â€

“We created this program to adapt to the changing economy and its impact on the hospitality industry,†he explains.

The 785-room Sunseeker should launch in October. It will contain 20 restaurants and bars, two pools, a spa and salon, a 117,000-square-foot “ground level experience,” an adults-only rooftop hideaway, 60,000 square feet of conference space, a waterfront promenade, and an 18-hole golf course.

Allegiant’s first-quarter operating revenue rose 29.9% to $649.7 million last month.

The resort cost $695 million, up from $510 million, according to firm CEO John Redmond.
