Burglars stole a deputy’s gun and ammo from Golden Gate Middle School.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office reports that Golden Gate Middle School was broken into on Wednesday, with the robbers taking a gun and ammo.
On Thursday, they released photographs from security video in the hopes that the public may assist identify the robbers, according to a recent article by Sarah Lindenberg on FOX 4.
The photographs show four persons, three men and one woman, all in black and hiding their faces. According to the Sheriff’s Office, one was wearing “Dunk Low Retro Nike Sneakers.” One of the sneakers was discovered outside the school.
“After breaking into the school, the suspects entered the locked Youth Relations Deputy office and used a cutting instrument to break the lock on the gun safe inside. They took the CCSO rifle, two magazines, and ammunition from the safe. The suspects also took some cash from other areas of the building.” CCSO stated in a Facebook post.
They noted that detectives are still reviewing surveillance footage, processing evidence, and following up on investigation leads.
