Backpack Event Held; Safe Boating Class Slated

A recent community backpack giveaway made sure local kids are entering the new school year with all the essentials—pens, notebooks, and school supplies prepped and ready to go. Though specific organizer names aren’t detailed, these events have become a meaningful way to support families ahead of the fall semester.
On the horizon for Naples residents (and anyone boating in our waters): the “Boat America” Safe Boating Class, led by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. It’s scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025 and will take place at 13531 Vanderbilt Drive, Naples, FL. This is especially timely thanks to new Florida regulations—effective July 1—requiring anyone who has lived in the state for less than five years to complete a certified boater safety course before operating a vessel. The class earns attendees the Florida Boating Safety Education Card.
