A man in Naples was detained after he pawned a fake Rolex for $7,000.

After pawning a phony Rolex watch at Pine Ridge Pawn and Jewelry, a man was taken into custody.
On September 29, Olgierd Wielecki pawned a Rolex Submariner for $7,000 at a Naples pawn shop.
After closing the transaction, the individual examining the item for the pawn shop reportedly discovered the watch was fake, according to a recent article by Bridgette Seale of NBC2.
On November 16, Wielecki tried to pawn a second Rolex at Pine Ridge Pawn & Jewelry.
It was a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Sea-Dweller this time.
The pawn shop observed that the movement mechanism’s serial number was laser engraved rather than the customary imprint left by the Rolex company.
The watch was obviously fake because the winder pinion’s knurled thumb screws were absent.
When Collier County deputies arrested Wielecki for pawnbroker fraud, they allegedly discovered cocaine, Adderall, and Xanax in his pockets.
The timepieces were shipped to Rolex in New York for verification of their legitimacy.
Wielecki is accused of passing counterfeit goods, pawnbroker fraud, grand theft, amphetamine possession, Xanax possession, and cocaine possession.
The original article can be found on NBC2.
